I have been getting a "burnpot TC" error for some time now. I ordered two new thermocouples. I replaced the one in the stove with a new one thinking that would solve my problem. After i installed,it fired up and ran for about 10 minutes but never got out of start mode. Then the "burnpot TC" error popped up again and it shutdown. I removed the new one and replaced it with the other new one. Same thing happened, startup, ran for 10 minutes, "burnpot TC" error, and shutdown.
I removed the second new one and brought all three TC's to my shop to test them. With my fluke attached to the plug, i heated the TC with a lighter. All three TC's read between 15-30mv with the flame under the TC. All three TC's read less than one MV with no heat.
My understanding is that as long as the TC is reading 15-30mv, the TC is working properly. All three were also tested in the stove with a new ceramic probe cover.
My question is, is there something else that would cause the "burnpot TC" trouble code?
I am thinking that the problem may be in the motherboard, a melted connection or something.
Should i be looking somewhere else or am i on the right track?
Thanks for any help or insight you can provide.
