One of the pipes fell out of my damper on one side. I can't figure out how to get it back in or reattached. Also no idea how this would happen. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Assume you mean one of the secondary burn chamber pipes? Don't remember if they were held in with a pin, or pressure fitted. It should let you put it back in place, might have to clean it off a bit to maneuver it back. Isle Royale was really unique, one of my favorite stoves.

If it is like other Quads of that vintage, there may be a 3/16" allen screw holding each tube in place.

Paging @Jags to the IR desk. Have you ever removed the secondary tubes?

I think you're right BG. Just looked at the manual, it mentions the screws and manifold clips of Quad, so OP must have had one come loose. Should be an easy fix. Still believe that flip baffle was a cool design...

It appears one side has the screw. I think the other side is pressure fitted. the pressure fitted appears to have just fell smoooth out. Do you think I ned to remove it and have it welded? I was thinking about an easy inhome fix like inserting a smaller pipe inside it.

So are you saying the manifold pipe wore, and broke apart? If so, best remedy of course is to replace it. Putting a smaller pipe inside it to make it work will impair its operation, sounds like its time for a new set of tubes, if rest of stove is still usable...

Yes basically a set screw on one end. If the pipe has been compromised it needs to be replaced as well as the rest of them inspected. If it's just a simple matter that a screw didn't retain the pipe in its position I would just reposition the pipe and get it to stay in place

If that new, its hardly broke in. Prob one of the lock down pins held in place by screw that loosened... (They're call manifold clip pins). Stay warm.

The stove is only been used 1.5 seasons. The pipe appears to be in fine shape it just fell out of the hole. I'll tray to get some pics.
Mine has been used for darn near 20 Seasons so I think you probably got a lot of life left in them. Get that thing back in its home place and get it locked down and you should be good to go

Here is the side that came loose. There is no screw.

That is one heckuva score. It's been a long time fave of mine too. I'd be burning in one today but our corner location couldn't meet the clearance requirements.

But the clip that holds it in place is on opposite side no? Its been a while since I've seen an IR, though. Only one side has the lockdown screw. Did the flange the pipe rests in wear through perhaps?

I dont see anything on that side of the pipes. The other ones are in with no flanges.
