I was cleaning my Santa Fe this morning and I noticed that the burnpot is flaking a little on the front left rim. when it flakes it is obviously a layer of metal and it is a little orange rust like color. Is this normal?

somewhat common for this to happen. not really anything to worry about.

excellent, thanks for the reply. The dealer said i can bring it in if I want and they will replace it under warranty but I was not sure if it was really necessary.

mine is doing that too. I wouldn't worry about it.

A friend of mine had his Quadra Fire burn pot burn completely thru. I see the ones built in the last few years have a super duty cast pot, I think that's what he replaced his with.
