First, I want to thank everyone for their input from another thread I had about installation and different brands of pellet stoves that people had. I ended up purchasing a Sierra insert and not from the dealer I first visited. I am really not sure why Sierra seems to be the choice of stove around in my area, other than the ones you get at lowes or home depot, not that there is anything wrong with Lowes or home depot stoves, it just that I wanted to make sure I get a good install from someone who knows what they are doing. One thing I liked about this dealer is that the stove can have a battery installed in case the power fails so that the stove will continue to work, he told me he could get this battery from the factory but I could buy it locally and it is the same battery he would be getting from the factory at about ½ the cost. He also talked me out of getting an automatic thermostat , he said that it would burn more pellets by having to fire up and get back up to temperate, he suggested to leave it set on a low setting and just let it burn.
The insert, with nickel trim and the installation will be 3,400.00, I put down my deposit and he said he would have the stove installed in 7 to 10 days. The dealer also sells pellets and I am not sure of the name brand but they are 225.00 per ton and a delivery charge of 50.00.
So maybe in a few days I will join you guys in saving a little of that very expensive propane gas.
