Hello
The ladder is dead in the water until fixed!
Looks like 25 ft would do but all they have is 50 ft rolls at Ace hardware.
So is it 1/2” or 3/8” diameter? Well I found out the hard way after picking up the 1/2” on the way home. Had to return it for the 3/8”
Ace Hardware - $8.99
Ok so I tie a slip knot like the old one which took a while to figure out the slip knot configuration so when you pull the rope it gets tighter on the rung holding it.
After cutting it to length, it made a frayed end that looks like it may unravel the whole darn thing! Different ways to fix that.
1. Tape
2. Glue or silicone sealant
3. Torching the end to melt the polypropylene. - it worked on the old one but not on this new formula rope!
4. Heat shrink! - This is a good one but what size and where to get it?
Answer
Home Depot $4.82 - 1/2” 14-8 AWG JB
Plugged in the heat gun and cut a piece of heat shrink and bingo!
