I need a good plumbing diagram for 2 staked horizontal tanks. I will be using a royall 6250 wood boiler 250000 btu. I have done many hot water boilers but none with storage like this. Any help would be appreciated.
If anyone needs tanks Gates Salvage in Hardwick Vermont has all kinds of them and they are in good shape I paid .30$ a lb two 500 gal tanks cost me $600

Did you look at the first Sticky which is a downloadable Training PDF? I've attached a schematic I downloaded from the Froling dealer's website. I just posted a pic of our tanks in another thread.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any tanks that are stacked horizontal. I would think two horizontal tanks are going to be plumbed different then two vertical tanks.

Not much to it.

Edit : That's a good buy on tanks.

Not that I have a stake in this, but isn't that a serial connection vs. Tennman's example of parallel?

Yes - but I also think his was vertical & not stacked horizontal.

What I posted above is what I did (I left out the rest of the system) - I have very good stratification even though it's only about 5' of tanks, vertically. I also don't pump all that fast, which also helps with stratification.

I had a hard enough time figuring out what was going on with my single 100 gal. tank, I can't imagine a thousand (or two). :)
