Hello
Has anyone seen this issue?
Pelpro Accutron IV heat level light blinks red when starting but then goes out and stove shuts off!
This error happened with a new control panel set in manual mode. That is heat level lights 1 & 4 blinking together when checking the mode of operation.
It seems like the panel is working properly but unfortunately it does not have well defined errors after it quits like many other brand stoves. On other stoves the heat level blinks with the error. Example if the 2 light blinks that is a vacuum error.
Here is a good video of setting the panel to manual mode and then the error appears and stove stops running. Apparently this is the only error code. I call it the safety switch error.
Note: The first part of this video shows how pressing the off button for 3 seconds cycles thru the 3 modes of operation. Two modes for T-Stat and one manual mode. The manual mode is set when heat level 1 & 4 blink together.
Here is some troubleshooting information from Pelpro on this safety switch error.
A flashing red light on a Pelpro Accutron heat level, followed by the unit going out,
typically indicates an issue with the pellet supply, most likely an empty hopper, a problem with the auger motor, or a faulty flame sensor
, causing the stove to not register a flame and shut down as a safety precaution.
Possible reasons for the flashing red light and unit shutting off:
• Empty hopper: The most common cause, where the stove has simply run out of pellets.
• Auger motor malfunction: If the auger motor isn't feeding pellets properly due to a blockage, broken belt, or motor failure.
• Faulty flame sensor: A dirty or damaged flame sensor can fail to detect the flame, causing the stove to shut down.
• Exhaust system issues: Blocked exhaust vent can lead to overheating and a safety shutdown.
• Control board malfunction: Although less common, a faulty control board can trigger error codes, including a flashing red light.
What to do:
• Check the pellet hopper: Ensure the hopper is full and the pellets are flowing freely.
• Clean the flame sensor: Locate the flame sensor and carefully clean it with a soft brush or sandpaper to remove any debris.
• Check the exhaust vent: Ensure the exhaust pipe is clear of obstructions and properly connected.
• Inspect the auger motor: Listen for any unusual noises from the auger and check for visible blockages.
• Consult the user manual: Refer to your Pelpro Accutron manual for specific troubleshooting instructions and error code interpretations.
If the problem persists after checking these basic issues, contact a qualified appliance technician or Pelpro customer service for further assistance..
However in our case after checking all the motors and fans and igniter, the auger did not turn because the power from the control panel was not getting to it from the vacuum switch. Therefore the error was a vacuum error and the resolution was to replace the vacuum switch!
However it could have been a bad door gasket or a bad high limit switch but if the auger is turning then it could be a bad igniter or proof of fire low limit snap disk!
Here is a good 1st time setup video
Here is a good reset burn mode video
