Can anyone refer me to a list of pellet stoves that use less electricity? Not no electricity, just minimal possible as the ones that use zero require a traditional tall chimney. Also the less electronics, the better or easy to replace electronics. I want to vent via outside wall. Thanks!

I would think that electricity usage is fairly consistent amongst the different brands since they all pretty much use two fans (exhaust and distribution), a motor to turn the auger, and a few lights on the control board. Of course, that is for those without all the doo-dads that go along with a display panel.

To get absolute minimal electrical usage, you would need a stove that does not have auto-start. The igniter uses a fair amount of electricity for a short time to get the fire going. Once the pellets are burning, the igniter should shut off. That being said, if you run the stove in a mode where it never shuts down, you avoid the bigger draw of the igniter - but of course then the fans never rest either (and you may waste pellets).

The electricity a pellet stove is minimal i think my electricity bill only went up about $10 per month, i would almost bet my old gas furnace uses more electricity in a day than the pellet stove uses in a week..
I actually quit trying to penny pinch on my electric bill use to have monitors to show me my real time usage and quite honestly everything i did made so little of a difference that it did not matter. I was spending more trying to save a dollar than i was actually saving.. Now i just use common sense

Yes but with "extremely close" clearances and no blower, I think the BTU output is rather low.

As for any heating appliance, how many BTUs does the OP need?
