I just moved my Envirofire pellet stove out to my place at the coast and recently it only seems to run on high.
It is the auger speed control that has the 1-6 speeds and runs fine 5-6 but goes straight out at 4.5 or less. Everthing else works spot on.
I guess it could be worse if it was the other way around but never the less it can't run on high all the time and needs to be fixed.
Any suggestions where to start???
Thanks in Advance
Portland Dan

What happens on 4 this includes timing information.

If it lights and the auger turns dropping pellets then you could have something partially blocking the pellet feed (check feed path and remove any obstruction found), improper auger timing from the controller (time auger and compare with timing chart), vacuum interruption of the feed (clean stove, check the combustion blower), venting is incorrect (tell us all about the vent system), auger rubbing in the flight (check for wear marks in the flight or on the auger), and improper damper setting(adjust damper).

Thanks for the help. Yes the stove starts and runs like a top on 4,5,6 its when you turn it dow below 4 it stops dropping pellets. Exactly below 4 every time. I have cleaned the stove and nothing is blocking the auger. What and how are the next steps to trouble shoot?

Does that stove have a dial a fire control on it or one of the digital control boards?

Sounds like the auger motor is weak. Has enough power to do the job on the higher settings(on longer) but doesn't when the time is shorter. Pretty sure its a dial a fire. Digitals only go to 5.

To prove watch the motor while running, You hear it hum and not move on start, Then it will start moving. You'll probaly also notice the motor is hot when running(careful its hot enough to burn skin) and should also be noisier than normal.

No its a manual knob. Theres two knobs the fan and the auger. Its just strange how its so abruptly stops every time directly by turning down past 4. I will attach a few photos that might help.
Thanks

Digging through notes for another stove. I sawe that one fix wasn't the auger motor. It was the bushings on the auger binding.

Does it make a creeking sound when the auger turns?

Its hard to hear with the blower going. I will check and also check if it is running hot to the touch. Im going to say no though. The auger seems to be running fine.

Hi, so I ran the stove this weekend the auger defiantly is not rubbing on anything nor making loud noises. It rotates slow and makes a complete circle. Is the sitting right if it is sitting off center on its side? Any other ideas for trouble shooting? Could it be the auger control speed knob? Do they ever go out like that. With a dead spot I guess you would say. The problem is this is on the Oregon coast so there is no one in the general vicinity to call on.
Thanks

It is a potentiometer so you could be right. The pots are noted to get dead/flat spots.

Do you have an ohms meter? You should be able to test its resistence.
