Hello helpful forum,
I just acquired an old cabin with a 2006 Napoleon Bayview (Model# GDS25p Serial# 001062) missing the burner (not available from manufacturer). It's missing the logs and glass ($600 total), but with the burner not present, do I have any options? Does anyone have any ideas? I'm willing to fabricate a piece from clay/metal/?? It would save me about $3-4K instead of buying a new propane Fireplace.

In the image is a red circle where the gas comes out.

Unless you can replicate the burner exactly, I don't think that it is a good idea. The entire unit is engineered and tested as built and any modifications can be dangerous or deadly.

Thank you Lennox56, I was thinking the same when Napoleon came back saying they have a different part that fits perfectly and also works on newer stoves. I think I am in the clear, now to do this myself, I just need some good instructions, plumbers dope, and more youtube info on putting fireplaces together and checking for leaks. Any ideas?

Typically, the burner will have some type of Venturi tube with an air shutter at the end. The whole burner assembly then sits on the main burner orifice and is screwed down to the floor of the stove.
Post pictures of all of your parts once you receive them and we can walk you through it.
