Yes, yes, I know it's New England. But DAMN it's a bit nippy out there. These @#^#@$$& suck. Talking storm Thurs/ Fri. so spent some time brnging n some wood. Well, worked up a little sweat, so I grabbed a beer, after the second load, I had a beersicle! Had to switch to other libation's. I hope it's a slow day at work tomorrow.

The beer is cold and it's a toasty 74 degrees in front of the fire. Gotta look at the bright side!

Makers mark never freezes ;) getting tired of tossing the tarp back on top of my stacks - i need a wood shed

I've been having the same thoughts. Gotta' love trying to pull a split out without pulling the tarp, only to have a sliver grab the tarp and put yet ANOTHER hole in it. >:(

I need a shed too.

CTburns, I will let you know that JAWS is my fiance's favorite movie. I also must add to this point, is a DAMN good firewood transporter, and can do a hell of a job with the stove while I am at work. ( she has a home office) sooooooooooo it is always toasty inside here also.

The next beer but the hearth will have to wait till tomorrow. 4:45 wake up call.

I need a tarp for my shed. We got a bunch of snow with high winds and it drifted into my shed. It was wet snow that has since frozen. I'm knocking splits together to get the snow off them.

I learned this week why I need a woodshed - wind blew off the tarp before the freezing rain. First year burning - but the last without a shed, that's for sure.

KC, your fiancee is a woman with great taste. Her home office and her prowess with the wood stove is an added bonus. You're a lucky man!

Very simple solution: Russian Imperial Stout. Its got a high enough alcohol content that it won't seize up on you. Glad I could help!

The pipes in my downstairs circuit froze last night - still frozen now. I have a stupidly designed section where the kitchen flies out over the deck - there are pipes between the floor and the deck - strangely enough they froze... Hoping they don't burst.

I got the wood shed, its the makers that im missing! Just finished my last bottle of JD single barrel on christmas while standing outside for 6 hours in a snow storm and 13 degree weather smoking a dang ham.

Next time you go to the liqeur store buy a bottle of inexspensive saki. Open it and warm it in a pan of water on your wood stove gently. Pour it into a water bottle with a sport top, and snuggle it in an insolated sleeve/cover. After that......just keep the pets and small children away from you while you're swinging the spliter axe.

Same with most IPAs...just have to let them warm up if you want any taste.

A tarp wouldn't last a week on my shed. I suppose the benefit in drying time makes up for knocking snow off.
