Went on a cruise last week to the Norwegian Fjords, came across this guy in the mountains splitting Birch.
Had an interesting set up on his tractor for cutting and splitting.

Cool.
The last pic looks suspiciously like Geiranger Fjord.
Part of my family comes from a now abandoned world heritage protected austere farm on sunnylvsfjorden.
Later moved to Aalesund and another part of family from Flem Island.
Those are some serious tire chains on his tractor. They must have some very wet areas over there.
That's a big circular saw on the tractor. They cut their rounds to 1 meter lengths, split them,. then cut the splits to stove length, or something like that. How does he split it?
Looks like they use the old buzz saws over in Europe, too! There was a post about those saws just a few weeks or so ago on here.
Awesome pictures, Billy.....looks like my kind of place. Remote, rugged, and beautiful. I bet you guys had a great time, that cycling trip sounds like a blast!
Thanks for sharing the pics of your vacation, good to hear from you, haven't seen you on here much lately!
INCREDIBLE scenery, and you've got a good knack for taking pics!Hi Scotty
