Minister of Fire
This is a typical log tow leaving Port McNeill, BC. Destination is Vancouver, BC, a distance of about 250 miles.
This log tow has roughly 1,000,000 board feet of lumber in it and on the Marine Traffic Channel was described as a 33 section log tow.

"Axe men" had an episode on that. The crew had to gather the bundles up and link them together. They were doing that at night, and I will say, if you fell down in the water between the logs, bad situation. Real dangerous work. Nice pictures.

THe log tow had two lamps, one Starboard front, and one Port rear :-)The picture of the back Port end of the tow is fuzzy , but the lamp is visible. the two pictures at the front are clear but the lamp almost looks like a rock on the shore. :coolmad: If you enlarge the picture of the tug , you can see the three lights on the mast. :cheese:
