We have had a vermont castings stove for over 35 years and love them. Just bought a new Defiant 2016. We are having trouble getting the ash pan in and out. They have a new design. No customer support anymore since the company sold. Other changes have been made which are inconvenient. Any suggestions on what to do to make the ash pan work better would be appreciated. Thanks

One of your problems is that, when you bought your first Vermont Castings stove, back in 1982, they made the best stoves on the market.
In the past decades quality at VC has gone south. I owned one in 1988, a Resolute, and it was a great stove.
I wouldn't buy one today.

What are you having problems with? Can you slide the cover over the ash pan or is it not fitting well? Is there a model at the dealer that you can compare yours to and maybe get the dealer to help you out?
