Last week I stopped at a cell tower building site down the road and asked about some logged wood there and the contractors said please take it, that it would be help them if they didnt have to take care of getting it out of there so I started working on it today. It’s mostly some sort of maple with a little yellow birch mixed in. Two piles, maybe 6 cords 🤔 I don’t know 🤷‍♂️
I’m 6 years ahead with dry red oak now so this wood will be used far in the future.

Maple and birch can season pretty quick. If you are that far ahead I have found wood to be really nice currency for bartering with neighbors. I get more out of it that way as opposed to selling.
Hmm, can’t think of anything the neighbors would have to barter for but I have sold some of my stores of mixed maple, birch and elm to a neighbor and I have lots of well seasoned oak to sell now if I want to but I don’t know if I want to sell it yet.

Bummer, I have bartered for tractor time, farm sitting, hay, stuff like that.
