my father passed in 2009 and my pellet stove has sat since I have only messed with it a couple years back and I got frustrated with it and stopped messing with it .well I been reading up on the pellet stove its a wp4 whitfield quest 1993.(.i know its says 1993 even though models start at 1994 idk). well I cleaned that whole thing the burn pot , the fake brick wall , the ash pan, the pipe and the T in back and emptied out that and cleaned everything I seen inside pipe ..sorry new to all this lingo everybody. I started it up and got fire going and here's my problem it kept getting to a point where the pellets kept over flowing it just kept spiting them out way to fast every 4 seconds I counted auger made noise and fed and I had fan on high , had put damper on in between medium and high , then turn it up higher to burn the pellets faster and still wouldn't work. Reason is my pellet feed knob is on low but here's the thing it feels like the knob is broke? it does the same thing doesn't matter if on low , med, high only does every 4 seconds spits pellets out and I cleaned whole stove and outside and have brand new pellets only grabbed 2 bags from home depot just to try and see if I could figure this out and finally get over my dad using it all the time and me step up and enjoy it.it was his baby .I seen couple people having similar problems but I get good flame so im not sure and very inexperienced with it so asking for help.i heard someone say check the gaskets in ash pan and door? should I do that ? how should I go about checking everything and figuring this out? lol I started this now I want to fix it and get it going .thanks for all the help .

If you have the controller with the dials, you have the very old controller. Most likely it's broken. You can try this guy and see if he can fix that dial.
