Hello everyone,
I currently have a birck fireplace 27 1/2 width , 22 height , 28 depth ( approx) used it for the first time last winter, doesn't heat much, nice ambiance , and smoked up the house a few times, and oh yeah wife hates it (smell/smoke) . Its in my basement with 1 family room approx 400 sq ft. main floor is 5 1/2 rooms (duplex).I was thinking about maybe getting a wood stove insert in the near future . I currently use electic heating system as a primary source and would like to have a secondary heating system while investing in a stove insert. I was at a local stove / fireplace dealer who sells gas/wood/pellets . He recommends me getting a wood pellet stove insert for my application. I would like a stove to be low on maintance , seeing as no one is home during the day, but at the same time would like to use it to heat during the cold winter months here in Canada. Now I have heard many opinions from friends and co-workers but, I must say that the options out there, and manufactures are never ending I have searched on the net , and have gathered alot of info,,, but the question still remains the same as in what type and sort should I get?
For your info the local dealer quoted me on a wood pellet stove... Enviro Milan $3991 + taxes (includes installation and piping )
