Greetings all, this looks like a great place to learn a bunch of new things. I have a question, my 4-year-old home has LVP in the 19'x33' living/kitchen area. I was going to put a woodstove roughly in the middle of the 33' span with a 6'"tall type 2 hearth, along the exterior wall. I was looking at Quadra Fire Discovery 1 and Hearthstone Green Mountain 40 and after reading the Owner's manual online (page 9 for both stoves), I see where Quadra Fire says you need 57" from the door to LVP/LVT since it could melt. So, the door of the stove will be roughly 30" from the wall plus 57" because of the LVP flooring, puts me way out in the middle of the living room (well beyond the hearth pad), do I need to put new flooring down (engineered wood would be my choice). Thanks!

LVP and heat can cause problems. It may not melt, but it can buckle.
