With help here last fall I put a candor cat with a new temp guage on my old blaze king princess and immediatly noticed a difference as follows:
Las winter I had to clean the chimney twice. I am burning well cured red fir and tamarack.
Where the temp guage probe would cake with heavy crunchy soot over night, i have but wiped it off twice with my glove and the residue is soft and the probe wipes clean in a single sweep with my glove.
i've had it running 24/7 since mid November and feel no need to get on the roof and look at the chimney, the draft is good.
what a difference.
