We are in the process of tearing our deck down and replacing with a enclosed porch(13x14). It will be insulated top, bottom and sides. I am thinking of adding a stove to increase usage further into the cold season as adding ducting would be almost impossible without basement ceiling tearout. There are a few used P43 for sale (8-9 years old) and hear they are pretty solid units. This could also be a terrible idea and open to others. Thanks

The Harman P43 IS a solid unit. I burned one for 12+ winters in NY, & when we sold the house, I sold it to my neighbor. He’s burned for the last 3 without any issues. I replaced one ESP in that time & one Fines Box gasket. If you’ve never burned a pellet stove, be prepared to bond with it. They require routine maintenance & if you keep it clean, it’ll keep you warm.

Not the first time I have read of many years of minimal to no issues usage. Not sure how this setup will work so I'm hunting used instead of the big investment on a new one. 1900 for a 2015 used for 4 years. Cleaned thoroughly 2x a year and owner test fired it and says in working condition.

My P43 has been solid. It sports a 2012 date and I bought it used and installed in 2015. I did have to replace the exhaust fan because it was making abnormal noises, but who knows what the stove had been thru previously.

My P61a has also been very solid - just replacing door gaskets when needed at this point (KOW). So, I' am definitely sold on the P-series Harmans.
