I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand figuring out what stove this is and when it was made around?
It is a #11 NEMO Coal or Wood Stove made in New York U.S.A.

It was my Grandfothers and he collected antiques. He passed many Years ago and I have it in my storage unit. I have seen some of these are sought after.

If anyone can steer me in the right direction or Know what it is it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mike

What's Floor in Unit - Look Like . . ?

Interesting Item . . I have seen one before many years ago ..but I believe that # was Different on that One ..

It's a little coal burner. My guess is that this is from the late 1800s. With a good cleaning, repaint, and polishing of the nickel metal, this could look pretty spiffy. If done properly, it could bring $500-700 in today's market. Check out the links for antique stove dealers for more information.

Often, the value of antique stoves in in the eyes of the beholder. I found a NEMO big brother of this stove, restored selling for over $3k. No telling how long it has been for sale though. And I found the same NEMO Oak 13 stove at an auction that sold for $75.99 in 2014.

Union Stoveworks was a well known foundry out of Peekskill, NY. It has a long history up to 1929. If you can find some sales catalog for them you may be able to pin down the date to a decade or less. Keep exploring the stove parts for a casting date. In the meantime, here is some interesting history on the Hudson River founderies.

Lots of similar stoves were made. It's similar in size, if not construction, to the "Daisy" coal stove (also from Peekskill, NY) that I restored a few years ago and which now heats our cabin (which is only a few miles from Peekskill) very effectively. Probably not worth much money, but very much worth restoring if you want to use it and have access to coal.
