Hi,

New to the forum and wood stoves in general. Picked up this old girl last week, she’s needy but the price is right. Only markings other than castings are Superb Reliance and 1818. I can’t find anything on this particular stove. She needs pieced back together and I’ve seen pictures of similar-looking stoves but I’m trying to figure out how everything functions, anyone have any insight on this stove?

Looks like a coal stove. What is the condition of the firebox and shaker grates? Keep seaching the whole stove for an identifying casting. It may be on the back of the stove or a door. There's a link to antique stove dealers at the top of this forum that may be able to help.

A coal stove feeds the fire with air underneath the coals and has a shaker grate.

I can see the riddling grate shaker mechanism on the front of left of the stove.

It's for shaking out the clinkers to refresh the coal bed.
