I would like a wood stove insert.. but.... i would really like a large ... my opening is 48" BUT i need one that is really nice looking...(wifey says so) she love the hampton hi300 in the enamel brown... however i would like something with a bigger firebox (its only 2.3) as my house is about 3000 sq ft

Pacific Energy Summit Insert. 3.0 cubic foot box. Fireplace required openings: Width at front 34-1/2" Width at rear 26-1/2" height 23-1/8" Depth 18". PE has a $200 dollar off coupon right now.

Sounds like just about any insert would fit, unless you have a shallow depth. The Quad 5100i is BIG (3.0 cf) but it might not be as pretty as the Hampton.

The 4100 is the "prettier" of the Quads, with the cast surround. But its not as big.
