I was lucky enough to find a 4" M-Flex chimney liner kit on Craigslist for $50 to use for an "in front of fireplace installation" of a used Harman P-61A also acquired via CL. The chimney now has ~18' lined with the flex pipe. I mixed perlite with portland cement to fill roughly the bottom third of the flue and then poured in loose perlite for the top 2/3 to make it easier if some future home owner wishes to remove the stove and recommission the stone fire place for its original purpose.
At this point I need to make a connection between the 4" flex pipe and the Harman. The Harman output is 3.5" while the flex pipe came with a 4" X 3.125" reducer. Obviously there needs to be a 90* change of direction as well as connection between the two fittings. We're trying to do this installation safely as well as user service-ably while being a frugal as possible. Below are a couple of photos to help consider the situation.
What do I need to do this connection? Is a T in the system essential or at least highly recommended?
Can I j make a 90* turn with the flex pipe?
Thanks for any informed replies.
