Hey guys, I upgraded my wood stove and in doing so I needed to move it away from the walls and get new piping. The current pipe is double wall pipe from a Canadian brand called security chimneys international. They don't make an adjustable pipe that is short enough so I bought duravent dvl pipe. Not sure if the brand of the ceiling adapter but it goes to a class Anin the attic, and in the attic it looks like a box above my ceiling. I have two new 45s and an adjustable straight. The ceiling has a male end sticking down that is slightly too narrow for my duravent dvl, so there is some play in it. Question, can I throw a thick gasket around that male end sticking out of my ceiling to make it an air tight connection with my duravent DVL 45?
Pictures are of existing setup plus the new 45 degree duravent in the last picture I want to connect to it.
New duravent 45 with a rough idea I had for the gasket to make it a tight fit on the ceiling. I figure there is only smoke going up the center pipe and those vent holes on the side would just be heat going into the ceiling adapter not being a big deal?
