Harman P38 installed in 2003 burning Somerset pellets
This is my first time posting pics on this forum. just practicing and giving everybody something new to look at. I did both installs myself including all the tile work.
I have been burning the P38 since 2003, it is a great stove. the only thing that has been changed since is the circuit board. it is a very reliable unitCincinnati Kid said:I believe you will totally enjoy your P-38. I had one installed three years ago. It's vastly superior to my old whitfield Advantage Plus.
What you are seeing is the stuff like "great stuff" but is a 2 part system called handy foam i did my whole band board area with it. I have a modular home and this area had alot of air leaks that were hard to insulate and seal. this material did a excellent job. i actually cut the wall thimble in after the bandboard area was foamed. i am all about safetyRETIRED GVA said:Nice tile work.
Now just make sure that "great stuff" is fullly clear of the vent
No, Why, is that where you installed yours?Werm said:Is the P38 installed in a bathroom?

do they make one of these for 3 or 4 inch pellet vent?Meneillys Woodland Products said:You should look into a Magic Heat for that long vertical part to reclaim the exhaust heat. Magic Heat We had a customer that installed one and it put just as much heat out as the stove it seemed.
No offense taken. Just had to shoot back and see where you were coming from! We are all friends here.Werm said:Maybe I came across wrong, I'm not knocking it. the tile looks great.

Hopper ext. does kinda look like a toilet tank now that i look at it.!! Wife would probably like the stove in the b-room, master bath is at the opposite end of the stove furthest away from the stoves, seat does get kinda cold. But i can live with it. I trade hours for pellets at the stove shop i work for to fuel the P38 and the lancaster only uses about $300 worth of corn. So i get away pretty cheap in the winter. Electric bill is only 70-80/mo. for family of 3. I spend more on utilities in the summer for pool. it raises electric bill by 100-125/ mo. but that is keeping water at 88-90 degrees with a heat pump. Wife likes house and pool warm. house is 74 in winter. keeps her happy which keeps me happy!woodsman23 said:Can you flush the stove???, Naaa just kidding ya it looks great....
