Good job! I got 4 tons of Barefoot delivered to the Cape last week. Still using my stove off and on with the chilly Cape Cod spring.!

Flame,

I am sure you will like them. They are still the best I have burned. Hands down a winner! Your Omega will smile at ya when you poor them in:-)

Hey Jay!

Yeah I'm pretty psyched to try them out.

I was going to pick them up but a rear tire on my truck doesn't look too good, it's peeling on the sides, so I'm going to pay for delivery this once.

Didn't want to have a blowout on the highway with a ton of pellets in the bed, yikes!

I'll replace the tire next Fall.

FG.

Your going to wait to replace a tire that the rubber is peeling off that could blow out (more than likely at highway speed), until the fall, but you'll pay extra just to get some pellets????? :gulp:

Your priorities are a little messed up, IMO.

The pellets were already on order and they came in early. Weren't expected till July.

They gave me the May/early buy discount since they're so early and that's what I'm spending on delivery. $40.00 total delivery. 20/ton isn't bad.

Plus, I estimated 12-15 bucks for each round trip for diesel anyway so that means I'm only paying ~$10.00 delivery charge for 2 tons. $5.00 per.

The tire will be fine till the Fall. Just very small patches of torn skin so I don't want to push it on the highway with a ton pf pellets in the bed.

Plus if I wait till the Fall I won't need to spend that money till then which is good since *I JUST GOT LAID OFF ON TUESDAY*.

So I do appreciate your concern and your suggestions.

lol

Flame,

Sorry to hear about the layoff, That sucks. But on the bright side its summer and you can enjoy the out doors at least.

I am on the shared work program, Where you work 4 days and layed off for 1 day a week. I'm on the 6th week and still haven't seen a dime from unemployment(CHECKS IN THE MAIL!). Savings are getting low now. I plan to fish for my dinner and grow what I can. Save where we can too. No vacation this year either. Maybe some day trips, I hope.

Sure hope the economy pick's up soon. But it doesn't look so good.

Hope the layoff is short lived and your back to work soon! Hang in there!!!!
Jay

Thanks Jay!

Yeah if it has to happen the summer is the best time for it for sure.

They gave me a good severance, we have some dough saved up and I can collect too. I've already been collecting during the previous 2-2 week unpaid shutdowns. They even do automatic deposit!

Plus the wife is an RN and has solid employment. She'll be picking up the insurance starting next month.

A few years back the industry went into a downturn, which it always does, feast or famine, and we did that same thing, work 32 hours and collect for 1 day per week. A 20% pay cut. I always got my check. Tell your payroll dept to get on it.

We have no kids so in Mass I collect $653 per week, which is the max. So if you'd collect the max you'd get 1/5 of that if it's the same rate as Mass.

This cut hit even the best of people. The company is smack in the middle of a very serious downturn. Business has been bad for the last 3 years, the stock back then was about 8 bucks, now it's 0.37 cents. Penny stock.

We'll hang in there and you do it too! This too will pass.

I'll be stacking pellets next Tuesday. Great exersize and I sure need it.

Thanks again,

FG.

OK, I get the reasoning, and really sorry to hear about the layoff......I was just concerned for safety, that's all.

Keep your chin up!

Hey thanks Mac, but don't worry about it. No problem. I'll admit to a little sarcasm in my answer but nothing personal intended at all.

We're much, much better off that most of the folks who were let go. I feel bad for them. We're in no danger of losing anything.

I feel bad for folks with kids who may be in danger of losing their homes, etc., and there were some there. One guy freaked a bit. I can remember when I was a kid feeling stressed whenever my Dad would let on in the slightest that things were shaky. Hate to think little kids nowadays still may go through the same thing.

Bottom line is that I just don't want to buy anything unless absolutley necessary. I want to replace 2 tires at a time minimum, next rotation time.

Thanks again Mac,

FG.
