Mulberry

Neighbor is offering up some mulberry. What do y’all think?

I would. It's a good hardwood, burns well. Comparable to Apple. With a hydraulic splitter you won't have any issues with splitting it. I've burned some from friends in town who took a tree out. did just fine, if not quite as good as hickory.

Mulberry is high on the BTU list. Sometimes it gets a little twisted. With a hydraulic splitter its good.. seasoning time is average. I've had it in the past and would burn it again with out a doubt...The only mistake you can make with this is passing on it..

It's worth it in my book. Good btu's. It does pop a little but that's the ambience of burning.

Scored some mulberry early in the year and recently came across a piece in my wood pile Burned it the other night. I will be on the look out for more from now on.

Take it! Easy to split, looks cool once split, and has good BTU's.
