I’m looking to buy a modine hot dawg LP heater to heat my garage and could use some recommendations on proper sizing.
I’m located in Massachusetts, the garage is 26x26, 2 garage doors, no windows. Floor to ceiling height is 13. Walls are 2x6, and will be insulated with R-19. I was thinking a 45k BTU, possibly the 60. Also with a ceiling that height would it be better to mount the heater around 10’ or up around the ceiling height.
Any info is appreciated

The main heat loss will be through the garage doors. Are they insulated?
How will the heater be used? On occasion or always to maintain a set temperature?

Going to keep it set to a constant 50 and bump it up when I’m out there working.
The garage doors are insulated

Seems like the 45,000 BTU unit should easily handle this. The main heat loss then will probably be through the floor unless that is also insulated.

Concrete floor is not insulated, do you think the 45k is alittle oversized and I should look into the 30k? Also any other brands I should be considering

30k would probably handle it if the place is sealed up well. I'm not sure who makes heaters for that output except wall units. Check out Grainger for options.
30K gas heater
45K heater
After efficiency losses, this unit comes in at 37.5k btus

One thing to consider since heat rises, put a ceiling fan in your garage so it will circulate the heat and keep it all from sitting at the tops
