I decided to break out the soot eater and clean the chimney for a little mid winter sweep. I burned only 3/4 cord of wood, mostly ash and silver maple that has been split since June 2011. Even though it is burning really well, i figured I would see how the build up is since this is my first full winter ever burning. When i swept in the fall 2011, i got about a 1/2 - 3/4 coffee can out from the previous year, which i was burning maple and unseasoned oak I bought from a guy that claimed it was seasoned (we all know who that goes). That was only burning just over a 1/2 cord. This year i felt like i was getting the hang of the PE Summit, i figured i would be able to tell by how much creosote came out. Well... after feeding ~28 ft of soot eater up the liner, i only ended up with about 3/4 -1 cup of black powder creosote. I think this is very little build up, what do you guys think?
