It's been about 2 weeks since I bucked all the free Maple I got from the tree company. The rounds have been sitting in a deep freeze mound of snow. Today I took my axe to a few and was pleasantly surprized at how well it split. When it was green and fresh cut - it was a bear. Now its like cake. Its gonna be good wood next year.

Had fun didn't you? Just don't tell anybody is was fun, ("Man, that's real man's work splitting maple with an axe")
Good job
Pictures?

Got above freezinig today. Splitting wasn't as easy as when it was frozen.

Here's my helper. See loves to grab the splits and run off with them. I find them all over the yard. If I could just teach her how to stack them.
