Hello,
Anyone try Maine Wood Pellets?
Good or Bad?
How did they burn?
Lots of ash ?
How was it cleaning the stove after burning these pellets?
Yup same here. Bought a ton of the MWP softwoods and 3 tons of the blend. Been burning them for the last 3 years. The price vs heat output vs ash.....I will buy them again next year. Ash: I have to empty the ash pan every 4-6 weeks when burning 24/7. I can live with that.I've been burning them. More ash then some. But the heat is good for the price. No complaints. My P-68 eats them like chiklets candy.
For 177 that's all I would burn tooIt seems like people with Harman's (including myself) tend to like them better than people with other stoves. And at $177/ton at HD with Military discount, there isn't anything else out there in Maine that I care to burn.

Yup. Love my Harman. While others are wondering about how good a pellet is going to be in their stove, I wonder if I should get up and get a beer or try to get the wife to bring one to me!
I have burned MWP, for $190-$220 per ton I would buy again. Wouldn't pay much more than that though, but I wouldn't pay that much more for any pellet.
I have not burned Maines Choice in over a year but it sounds like they may have made a turn for the worse. They were great for me. No clinkers real good heat and average ash. Guess that's why we try before we buyJust whatever you do, don't buy Maine's Choice. My stove gets dirty fast and there are a LOT of clinkers to chip out on a weekly basis. Not to mention you need to burn more of these pellets to get the same level of heat you get from other brands of a better quality./
This is my first year burning and for the price, I can live with cleaning a little more often. Heat was decent.
Absolutely! Only bought 7 bags and am on the last one as we speak.Guess that's why we try before we buy
