Greetings, I am new to this stove as is. The door handle cam appears to not be pulling the door in. there is a weld bead on the inside of the stove opening near where the door cam touches. Am I to assume there was a flat plate welded inside the stove for the door cam to catch and pull in, why else would there be a weld bead in the area. If that is the case, since it's steel, can I bolt a small (maybe 1/8") plate to the inside of the stove opening for the door cam to catch so the door will tighten up?

What model Lopi is this?

The M520 is larger. The rear of the firebox is 5 firebricks wide. The M380 is 4 brick wide.

Thank you, based on that it is a M380. It is from the 1980's but in good shape except for the door cam/latch does not pull the door tight even after a new rope was installed. There doesn't appear to be any adjustment in the handle as the cam is bottomed out on the flat.

Look to see if there are washers on the shaft on the inside of the door handle. If so, this may apply:
Thank you, there are no washers, I saw that thread prior to making this one. The cam slides on the handle shaft until it touches the lip of the flat cut on the shaft and stops. The only way to bring the cam tighter is to put a washer on the outside of the stove on the shaft but then the nut tightens so you can't even turn the handle. It needs something on the inside of the door jam for the cam to touch so it gets tighter. I just wondered if someone knew if they put a shim inside the stove for the cam to ride on, it seems like a wearable item that be able to be replaced if it came originally with such a thing.
