Doing the burn-in right now. Stove looks great and is burning fine (so far) . Vents up existing 8" flue with a 4" flex liner to top with new cap and sealed + hearth extension.

PICS:

Duuuuude :ahhh: Looks Super..........

thanks for the Pictures

That Lopi is a good looking stove!

The brick inside the stove looks cool with the brick in the fireplace.
Stove almost looks see-through in the first pic.

Congrats!

Awe, thanks guys! But, you have the XXV that I wanted

I couldn't get that until next Spring so i went with the Leyden, The dealer and the installers said it's a great stove and I made a good choice otherwise; it looks great and putting out some heat, will shut it down around 7pm after burn-in. Here's two more pics with the hearth corner pads cut down and back on (so my toddler doesn't crack his head).

Now I just need my load of pellets. They've been delayed but should be here in a few weeks.

Anyone think I should paint/stain my original hearth to match the darker slate color of the extension? I'm thinking yes.

(ADDED 10-1-08) The liner that they used was by EverGuard and called Forever Flex; it connects to the T at the bottom and the cap at the top of the roof. Looks good, lifetime warranty. Here's a link:

Rich, the stove and hearth extension look great....Nice job! I wouldn't be too sad about not getting the XXV....the Lopi you have is supposed to be a nice unit....really nice looking too.

I agree w/ tinkabranc....the stove almost looks see-through with the brick patterns matching....cool

Same stove I have and I'm loving it so far. Gets the chill out of the fall evening in a hurry. Looks as good at your place as it does mine!

That is a great looking stove!!
I love the old cast iron look
I think the paint or stain you mentioned would look great.

That's a great looking stove. very nice!

I think the existing brick looks fine..I wouldn't change a thing..the whole setup is terrific!!

That really is a beautiful stove and the installation looks very professional!

You are all set!

Steve

A very handsome looking stove. Best of luck with it !

Dude looks really good, congratulations.

Man, that looks really nice. I could not sleep this morning and got up and fired my insert up to play around with some of the controls and look at the manual. After I messed around with the insert a while, I had to open the window, because it just got too warm.

I hope you enjoy your stove, I wish us both luck on our new stoves, and of course our investment.
