I have an opportunity to buy a 3 year old lopi leyden for 1/2 as much as a new Harman XXV. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? If the Lopi works properly would you do it?

I also have had my Lopi Leyden since Oct 2008 and it has worked great for me. So far only my ignitor burned out, otherwise its been a great stove. Large ash pan too which is nice and the fire bricks are solid. Is this one the cast iron or enamel version?I have an opportunity to buy a 3 year old lopi leyden for 1/2 as much as a new Harman XXV. Cast Iron one.
Same story here Richkorn, with the Harman back order, got the Lopi, no issues yet, but after reading your experience with igniters I expect mine will go anytime now. They're both cast iron.
duecedown - In 2008 the XXV was my first choice and the Leyden was 2nd - dealer sold / serviced both. The XXV was on back-order for 4 months during that time period so i went with the Leyden after the dealer recommended it. I have had a few issues here and there but all-in-all it is a great "cast iron" pellet stove. It's a top feed and Harman (with an "a") is a bottom feed. I actually like the look better than the XXV. For 1/2 the price it's a smart buy.
Is it difficult to install an igniter?
