I’m looking to replace my Empress 722 with one like it if at all possible. The one I have is antique brass but has deteriorated over time and I can’t find anything like it that’s new to replace it. If anyone has one they are discarding and would be interested in selling, please contact me!
** Photo is what it looked like in better days.

Is this a wood burning zero clearance fireplace? If yes, is there access to remove it from the back?

It is a wood burning fireplace. From what I understand, it is riveted together and the frame may need to be uninstalled as one piece, although I’m not sure if this is entirely correct. This model also has a blower motor attached, that also obviously would need to be disconnected.

Replacing with an exact fit may be very challenging because the sizing is not standardized. Sometimes a surgical extraction from the rear can be done by opening up the chase (if there is one). Otherwise it takes demolition of the front to remove and a rebuild of this after the new one is installed.
