Saw a place that we liked today and may be putting in an offer. Existing wood stove in basement on hearth vented into masonry chimney. Stove is a PE. Pretty sure part of the stove pipe is installed backwards. Not worried, that could be changed.
From the chimney cap, is it possible to tell if there’s likely a stainless liner in the masonry? Also, can anyone identify the type of PE stove? . Thanks

Given that the cap seems not to cover the full rectangle of the flue, I would guess there is a metal liner in there.

Looks like a PE Super 27. Agreed it appears there is a stainless liner in there and yes, part of the stove pipe is backwards.

With the plumbing vent close to the chimney like that, would any issues come with that potentially? Thank you

I think that should be fine as (if the in home piping is done right) no smoke could enter the home thru this.
