Anyone use one of these for jockeying logs about the yard? They look pretty handy...

Same here. We use an ATV once in a while to drag logs of 12-14" from the hills. I don't like it most of the time a dirt is hard on chains.

I do like draging them out chained to a 3 point hitch. That way most of the log is off the ground and only the end is dirt and rock filled.

A fellow can make a drey much, much cheaper and it can be pulled with an atv.

Looks like it would be pretty handy as long as you are using it in the right terrain. Hills could be deadly!!

Mike, I may have spelled that wrong. It might be dray. It is a simple cart you can build to roll logs onto and pull them out of the woods. We used to make them by cutting logs for the runners, fasten a chain on the front and pull with the tractor.

I was going to make one last summer but just never got the time to do it. When I make one I'm planning on using landscape timbers for the runners rather than logs because I won't be hauling very much per load. The ones we've made in the past could haul many logs per load and we used a chain binder to hold them on. We bolted a chain to both sides of the drey so we didn't have to wrap the chain around the whole thing. If I ever get one made I will post some pictures.
