Limestone hearth platform

Our wood fireplace hearth will be 20 inches wide and 80 inches long and 2.25 inches thick Limestone.
We have a concrete foundation.
The hearth needs to be 6.25 tall to meet the bottom of the fireplace firebox.
I am considering 4 inch thick Cypress timber as a platform for the limestone hearth. The Cypress is dried, not green.
Anyone have opinions?

Then no you cannot have wood under your hearth extension at all. It needs to be all masonry
