Can the Kuma thermometer be removed? I like this wood stove, just not the look of the thermometer. I looked up inside and can see a bracket holding the thermometer. Has anyone here removed it? I probably need to get a metal plug for the hole. I just want to know if this is possible?

It may be possible, but the thermometet is pretty minimal and important for knowing when/if the cat is in the active zone. I wouldn't do this. Instrumentation on a stove is a good thing.
