After reading the many posts we finally bought our wood stove, a Napoleon 1400 basic model for about a thousand bucks. Took about 4 days on and off to move the living room wall, build the hearth and run the chimney. Got my fire inspection today and I'm ready to reduce the oil bill (I Hope!). Thanks to everyone for the useful information!
