Hi everyone….. So I have had this new Jotul gf160 that for 2 seasons has the issue of randomly shutting off….then reigniting a few seconds later…. The firebox goes totally black and after say 10 secs it ‘poofs’ big orange flames that are tall - then it simmers down back to normal. My company has been out countless times trying to rectify the problem with no success. Well they finally installed a new unit - does the same thing. So they put in an antennae in the control area and a wall plug to use…. Today is day 6 of success - till just now….it did it again. Any expert or casual thoughts/advice? Company said my old unit is in the store behaving perfectly__so they say it’s something in my house? causing this….like a radio frequency thing? But antennae did not help. Now they say move my internet to another room…..cannot do that here without big expense/hassle. What would you do? Just keep it while it does this? Ask for money back? Will any pro flame remote system do this-no matter the brand of stove? TIA everyone…this has been totally frustrating for the company and myself

Hi - this is Natural gas - had it installed from the road to house specifically for this new stove 2 years ago. Had gas company out last season for this issue and it’s deemed that install is good & gas running perfectly…. It is random as to how often this happens…..but most days I use stove all day it will happen once - it resolves within seconds by relighting itself ….

The flu damper loosened when they moved the stove. It's closed too much

Check the flu damper!
With 2 brand new units having exact same issue —— this latest one only a couple weeks installed….I really wish it was a simple fix. I don’t even want to tell them it’s doing this again. The company is over an hour away! Is this something a non-professional like me can do? Can I drag out the manual and make an adjustment myself? Thanks for replying…..it happened yesterday again - it was 10 seconds out before it reignited on its own….had been running fine on low for a couple hours

If this uses the sit 1 control board then you should have a remote receiver box. If you turn it on there do you have this issue? That would isolate the remote rf being an issue. Rule out problems. Does the flame look normal and just drop or does it ghost out? Post a few pics of the install
