I have an old Jotul Firelight that was very lightly used but the catalyst is missing.
woodsman has a replacement for about $200 and a local stove store quoted $400 for the OEM part from Jotul. Is the OEM worth 2x the price or the generic?
the stove is only used on weekends.
I know it won’t be as efficient or as clean but will it actually damage the stove to burn with a catalyst?
lastly, can anyone identify the part in the pictures? I was with the stove but I can’t figure out where it goes and I don’t see it in the parts diagrams I’ve found online
thanks.
