So thought that fan didn’t sound as loud these past few weeks but thought it was me. Now not coming on is this typical of a Jotul? This insert was expensive and is just over 2 years old

First step is to make sure that it is plugged in both to wall outlet and to fan mechanism itself. You’d need to take off the surround for that. Surround is cast iron so a bit heavy. Relatively easy to remove but tricky to put back on, so be prepared for a bit of annoyance there.

The thermostatic snap switch may have failed or is not in contact with the stove body. check that first. If is it jumpered out, do the fans come on? If not it may be the rheostat (blower speed control).

If they’ve been slowing down and now quit, they could full of dust and/or pet hair. They need a good cleaning every season or a few times a season if you’ve got pets.
