i have an old thread on here for background but thought I would post an update.

I talked to a local chimney sweep and he seemed to think that running a flex liner down my 7" security ASHT flue , through my old ZC fireplace and into a new Jotul would be fine.
however, i just called Security Chimney to double check that this is ok, and they were very adamant that i should not do this and the pipe would have to come out and be connected to new black chimney pipe.
is this the end for my proposed project and I should just listen to the manufacturer?
if so this is a sad day :(
thanks for the advice

if the manufacturer is telling you not to do it i would listen to them. they designed it, built it, and tested it.
