Cool day here and my workshop was down to 60 so I decided to take the chill off. I love this little stove, easy to run and heats up quick. If Jotul made this exact stove with a 1.5 cu ft firebox I’d buy it in a heartbeat for my cabin.

Yeah unfortunately the 1.47 cu ft. jotul black bear which would be the closest to the 602 didn't get great reviews.

Oh, I thought the Black Bear was 2.0 cu ft? I almost bought on but read there was some baffle warping issues. Love the looks of it though.

I got the size online from cherry valley stoves. Nice that it takes up to 24" splits. Too bad it's reported it's not the solid workhorses the 602 and original 118 are.

i almost got a used one last year in utah but someone else was willing to pay more than us.

It's a beautiful sight! Unfortunately, I still have a bit more to go before it makes sense to start the burn season. 😔

Also, I love that hearth setup. Simple, but I love that stuff lol. Awesome workshop setup too! Enjoy Todd!

The first ones had lots of problems with the baffle warping. They switched to a split baffle later that helped mitigate the issue.

Looks like it’ll be awhile til I light up again with the weather in the 80’s for the next week.

It’s a cement slab in there but I thought I’d elevate the stove on some cement blocks so I wouldn’t have to bend over as much.
