I just had the stove installed last week, everything was great the first few days and then it started going out between 30-60 minutes after starting and the pilot goes out as well, even though it is running in CPI. I noticed the pilot shroud is glowing red and then there is a flashing red light in the control box, it blinks three times and then repeats. I’ve searched online and through the manual, but I can’t figure out what that means.

Without knowing what that red light code means, I’m leaning towards an issue with the flame sensor and pilot. After the stove cools a bit, I am able to reignite the pilot in CPI and have confirmed that the pilot will stay lit over 24 hours without operating the stove.

Does anyone know what the blinking red light means? Any ideas on what’s going on?

I have a call into the installer, but am not sure how long it will take for a return call. I’ll obviously wait for them, but was wondering if there is a simple solution.

Could be a venting issue. Could also be a lose wire check all connectors including orange wire to valve. And check grounds. Also is this plugged into an outlet with power or are you currently running it on the battery pack?

Thanks for your response, I thought venting, but it will run from 30 minutes up to an hour before going out, I figured a venting issue would impact it right away. I’ve experienced ghosting on another Jotul that I have. It’s plugged in as well as has fresh batteries.

I wonder what the red light flashing three times represents, I assume it’s an error code, but can’t find any information online. Still waiting for the installer service department to get back to me.

Update - seems crazy, but I opened the front glass and saw that a shard of the reflective glass back had fallen and covered over the pilot light. The installer had told us it was cracked and they ordered a replacement. I was assuming it was the shroud, that’s what was causing the fault error and the flame going out. I’ve been running it now for about 90 minutes and no sign of stopping. Fingers crossed
