When I got up this morning it felt a bit cool in here, so instead of burning down the coals I just added 3 splits. Dang, I had to take my shirt off so I looked at the temperature gauge and it is 660. Well, it did not get as cold as they predicted so with that wood and the big coal bed the stove took right off and the house warmed up fast. No, I am not going to open any windows.
Hey, I just saw a deer go through and could hardly believe how small it is. I had not seen this deer for quite some time and thought the coyotes may have eaten it but it has survived! Yet, this month is perhaps the most critical month for the deer. They still look pretty good but they are definitely hungry. Hopefully we'll lose the snow before too long and that will help them.
Yesterday we had 3 deer bed not far from the house around 9:00 am and they stayed until around 3:00 pm. Nice. They even stayed bedded when my wife was out filling bird feeders.
