Finally got my first woodstove insert installed and have my first fire cooking inside. Nice and toasty in the basement :)

It’s been a long road here but this is finally the cozy winter den we’ve always wanted. We did everything ourselves except the stove, wife and insurance prefer the pros put it in and I have no problems with that! Here’s where we started...

Really nice man! Enjoy the night and beyond with it!

Very nice!

That's a great improvement. Looks like a good fire in there too. Congratulations.

Thanks for the kind words! I’ve been stockpiling wood for a month, got a cord dropped off that’s decently seasoned but needs a little more time, saving that for last. Split another cord’s worth from an old stack of logs - probably 4-5 years old but kinda wet. Splitting it small and leaving good air space when I burn for now until it gets a bit drier. It definitely got hot and the secondaries were rolling!

And now I’m on the prowl for more wood for next year...
