Good evening one and all, It's been many years since I've posted. I have a Quadrafire Isle Royale, about 15 years old. Last spring I replaced the rope gasket around my ash door. Now I've got an air leak, not crazy bad, but it's noticeable in my temperatures and I'm not quite getting the same amount of time between loads. I think my problem is right here around the latch. It looks to me like a need to cut the gasket near the latch and glue in a new piece. Are there any tricks right around that latch? It might take me a couple of times to get this photo in here.

Thanks!

Yes, that looks like a tough to seal location. I ended up just letting the ash pan fill up on our F400. That solved all leakage issues. ;)

I cut away the gasket right there around the lock and replaced it with a fresh piece, making sure nothing overlapped the edge. I'll see how that does in the morning. I may have to with your suggestion at least for a while begreen, we've got a cold snap setting in here starting Thanksgiving day.

Yes, looks like it's going to settle in and stay for awhile. No worry, that big beauty will handle it.
